Impact Alamance Announces New VP of Education Programs and Alamance Achieves Executive Director

July 13, 2022 (Burlington, N.C.) – Impact Alamance announces the promotion of Tyronna Hooker to Vice President of Education Programs and Lexy Roberts to Executive Director of Alamance Achieves. Hooker joins the Impact Alamance team as the former Executive Director of Alamance Achieves with Roberts previously serving under her as the Community Engagement Manager.

As Impact Alamance focuses on growing education initiatives, the need for a Vice President of Education Programs developed. “Through their work at Alamance Achieves, Hooker and Roberts have been essential team members in paving the path towards a brighter future for our community’s families and children. In their new roles, we are excited to see how they will further engage with community partners to extend the flow of resources and services throughout our county,” said Impact Alamance President, Tracey Grayzer.

Hooker earned a master’s degree in special education from Elon University and was named the ABSS Teacher of the Year for 2010-2011 and North Carolina Teacher of the Year for the 2011-2012 academic year. For the past 5 years, she has successfully lead Alamance Achieves, an initiative of Strive Together. Their work as a community-driven organization helps ensure that every child in Alamance County is educated, equipped, and engaged from cradle to career. In her new role, Hooker will manage education strategy and initiatives for Impact Alamance, which include programs such as the Teacher Leadership Academy, Teacher of the Year initiative and Alamance Achieves. With her expertise in the education field, many leadership qualities and the determination to effect change, Hooker steps into this role well equipped to broaden education opportunities for the foundation, while continuing to lead core initiatives with Alamance Achieves.

Roberts received her bachelor’s degree in Public Health with minors in Public Policy and African American studies from Elon University. Originally joining the team at Alamance Achieves in 2019 as an Elon Year of Service Fellow, Roberts flourished in her role as Community Engagement Manager and steps into the Director role with an abundance of civic engagement experience and project management skills. In the role as Executive Director, Roberts oversees day to day operations and ensures the organizations objectives align and remain consistent with their purpose, vision and values. She moves forward with goals to build credibility and take calculated risks in implementing strategies that will facilitate widespread systemic change in educational outcomes.
