A public hearing is an opportunity to speak about a specific issue on that meeting’s agenda, such as a zoning change or the adoption of a budget. During a public hearing, speakers may only speak about the issue being discussed.
Public Comment
The public comment period at the end of the meeting is an opportunity to speak about any issue or concern, as long as it does not relate to something on the agenda for that meeting.
To speak during this period, sign up first:
- The public comment period is limited to 30 minutes unless City Council votes to extend it.
- Each individual signed up may speak for five minutes.
- Speakers with documents or handouts should provide copies to the City Clerk or Deputy City Clerk before the comment period.
