Take part in a six-month leadership academy that helps parents and caregivers advocate for their children and strengthen school engagement.

If your child’s school does not have an active PTO, PTA or Booster Club, you may be able to help start one.
Planning to Volunteer at an ABSS School?
To volunteer at an Alamance-Burlington School System school, including through a PTO, PTA, Booster Club or another school opportunity, you must complete a Volunteer Background Check through SecureVolunteer.
After you submit your background check:
- SecureVolunteer will review your information
- You will receive an email when you are approved
- You will receive a SecureVolunteer ID card confirming your background check is complete
