Impact Alamance is proud to announce the recipients of its 2025 Flex Fund grant cycle, investing $100,000 in total funding to support nonprofit general operations in Alamance County. These grants, supported by a contribution from Honda, are intended to help local 501(c)(3) nonprofits enhance their ability to serve the community by supporting essential operational costs.
The Flex Fund is a competitive, one-time grant opportunity designed to assist nonprofits in covering general operating expenses. Funds are intended to alleviate the financial burden of day-to-day administrative costs, so organizations can focus on their mission-driven work in areas critical to Alamance County: improving access to care, education, and economic opportunities. These flexible grants, which range from $5,000 to $7,500, can be used for a wide range of general operational expenses, including staff salaries, office supplies, rent and utilities, technology costs, insurance, professional development, and more.
“The Flex Fund is a vital resource for nonprofits in our community, providing unrestricted funds that enable them to strengthen their operational infrastructure,” said Marcy Green, Vice President of Programs at Impact Alamance. “We received more applications than we were able to fund, underscoring the significant need for general operating support among our nonprofit partners. We are thrilled to support 19 local organizations that play a critical role in improving the health and well-being of Alamance County residents.”

Collaboration with other local organizations, diversity of residents served, community engagement efforts and past relationship with Impact Alamance were elements of the grant applications that were reviewed to determine funding recommendations.
“We are very excited to be a recipient of this grant and continued support from Impact Alamance,” said Breana Southerland, Business Manager at The Salvation Army of Alamance County. “Every year our Food Pantry and Youth Center serve over 13,000 vulnerable adults and children. These unrestricted funds will assist with not only continuing to meet these goals but to expand our reach and operations to serve even more of those in need.”
The 2025 Flex Fund cycle was highly competitive, reflecting the increased demand for flexible funding among local nonprofits. The number of requests far exceeded the available funding, reinforcing the continued need for support that allows nonprofits to thrive and scale their efforts.
