Building Together: For Alamance

The For Alamance initiative, formerly known as the Alamance Harwood Initiative, invites you to attend Building Together: For Alamance on Thursday, April 11th at the Paramount Theater at 6:30 p.m.

In 2022, the Alamance Choosing Hope report was created in partnership with The Harwood Institute for Public Innovation. Since the report has been published, 5 action teams have been created. Teams have continued hosting community conversations and have begun taking action on the issues that have been highlighted in these conversations. The For Alamance initiative is now hosting Rich Harwood to come and share his national civic campaign, “Enough. Time to Build.” at the Building Together: For Alamance event. Rich will deliver a special keynote address followed by an audience Q&A.

Rich’s campaign calls on community leaders and active citizens to reclaim the public square from the most divisive voices and unleash our capacity as builders and doers. This event will explore how the Alamance community can forge a new pathway forward, create a can-do narrative, and catalyze action using the most basic parts of Harwood’s road-tested Turning Outward approach to community-led, community-driven change.

This event is free and open to the public! You are welcome to invite your network, organizations, and fellow community members. A reception will be held at 5:30 p.m. with the address beginning at 6:30 p.m. During the reception, heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served, while guests enjoy time to network. Spanish translation services will be provided.
