Public Comment
Comments and suggestions are addressed to Council during the Public Comment Period at the Council’s monthly meeting, typically near the beginning of the meeting.
To speak, sign up first:
- Speakers must sign up before the start of the meeting.
- Each speaker is given three minutes.
- The Mayor may establish a different time limit depending on the circumstances.
- The Mayor may limit repetitive comments to allow the Council to conduct its meeting.
Public Hearings
Public hearings give residents an opportunity to share thoughts and comments on current issues involving the City. These hearings are advertised in advance and included on the City Council meeting agenda.
Speakers are not required to sign up to speak at public hearings. After city staff and the applicant present the request, the Mayor opens the floor to those who wish to speak.
