Tracey Grayzer, MBA/MHA, APR

President

Dynamic, engaging, and passionate are just a few adjectives describing the work of Impact Alamance’s President, Tracey Grayzer. The Foundation was formed from the merger between Cone Health and Alamance Regional Medical Center. Since its inception, Tracey has led the organization in its strategic initiatives and partnerships to create a healthier, smarter, and stronger community for all. The Foundation is focused on creating a solid grid of resources for members throughout the county to provide them with the tools to thrive. 

Tracey graduated with her undergraduate degree in Journalism from Duquesne University, Pfeiffer University with her MBA/MHA and has also received her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) from the Public Relations Society of America.

She has been involved in the Women’s Symposium Planning Committee, Alamance Achieves Steering Committee, and New Leaf Society Executive Committee, among many others. You can find her on the tennis court, dance floor or spending time with her husband and two children outside of her numerous other commitments. 

Marcy Green, MHA

Vice President of Operations & Health Programs

Reliable, relational, and sincere are certainly outstanding qualities for the Vice President of Programs to possess. With eight years of experience within the Foundation, Marcy Green, works to oversee grant cycles and programs.  She collaborates closely with the grantees during the application and post-grant award processes to help improve content knowledge and operational effectiveness. She also works with the president to serve as a convener and collaborator in the community around key community needs.

Marcy has an undergraduate degree in Community Health Education from East Carolina University and a Master’s in Health Administration from Pfeiffer University. She is dedicated to serving as the board chair of Family Abuse Services of Alamance and participating on the Alamance County Health Department Children’s Dental Clinic Advisory Board. She is grounded in her church, enjoys dining out with family and friends, as well as traveling to the N.C. coast where you can find her relaxing over a fabulous fiction novel.

Tyronna Hooker, M.Ed.

Vice President of Education Programs

Tyronna Hooker is the VP of Education Programs at Impact Alamance. In her role, she leads the Alamance Achieves team and other education initiatives with local partnerships. Alamance Achieves is a community-driven initiative that aims to ensure that every child in Alamance County is educated, equipped, and engaged from cradle to career.

She earned her undergraduate degree in criminal justice from North Carolina Central University, a master’s degree in education from Elon University and her Certification in Nonprofit Management from Duke University. Tyronna is the 2011 North Carolina Teacher of the Year and has over 20 years of experience in the field of education, working with families and children.

A native of Bladen County, Tyronna has lived in Alamance County since 1995, where she and her husband have raised their two sons, who power her commitment to creating policy and systems change.

Laura Fehlhafer

Director of Communications and Advocacy

Laura Fehlhafer serves as the Director of Communications for Impact Alamance. In this role, she guides and executes a strategy for all of the foundation’s communications, including branding, content creation, public relations activities, marketing, and support for community engagement and advocacy initiatives. Laura earned her Bachelor’s degree in English from UNC Greensboro and Computer Graphics Certificate from Guilford Technical Community College.

It is evident she has garnered experience cultivating partnerships throughout the community. Laura has served on the board of United Way of Alamance County, volunteered with Junior Achievement, and served on the Alamance Partnership for Children’s NC Pre-K Committee. She is also active in her church.

Laura and her husband, Tel, have called Alamance County home since 2012. Together with their son and Aussiedor puppy, they enjoy exploring the many parks and trails the county has to offer and spending time outdoors as a family. 

Jewel White

Program Director

Jewel White is the Program Director at Impact Alamance, where she leads the Stronger Initiatives aimed at enhancing community health, promoting equity, and strengthening the capacity of local nonprofits. She oversees key programs including For Alamance, ACRE Co-Lab, and the Leadership Institute, while also shaping grantmaking strategies to more effectively support organizations driving meaningful change in the community.

She graduated from Elon University with a BA in Political Science and minor in International Studies and African/African American Studies. During her time at Elon, she was honored with the Wilhelmina Boyd AAASE Scholar Award. Jewel was also recognized by the Women’s Resource Center with the Leading the Way Rising Star Award and now serves on their Board of Directors. She is a graduate of Leadership Alamance and was recently accepted into the Hull Fellows Program, a distinguished leadership development initiative for philanthropic professionals in the Southeast.

In her spare time, she gives back to the community through her passion for dance as an instructor for the I.A.M.M. Dance Co. at Mayco Bigelow. Jewel loves trying new things and traveling to new countries.

Anne Baker

Senior Accountant

As the Finance and Grants Manager, Anne Baker oversees the foundation’s accounting systems and manages the grant software and documents. She also prepares and presents financial reports to the board as well as budgets and data analysis. She has several certificates from Duke University and a bachelor’s degree from Elon University in Psychology and Human Services.

Prior to joining the Impact Alamance team, Anne served as the Executive Director of Alamance County Meals on Wheels for seventeen years. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters in her free time.

Matt Mullen

Office Administrator

Matt Mullen’s collaborative and conscientious nature makes him well suited for his position as the foundation’s office administrator. Matt manages internal operations and administrative functions, while supporting the President and Board of Directors.

He received his Bachelor’s degree in Business & Communication from Berry College in Rome, Georgia. Starting his career in journalism, Matt transitioned to administrative, client service, and editorial roles within the communications field, amassing 15 years of experience. He has primarily worked in hospitality, healthcare, and life sciences industries, including serving several non-profit organizations and founding two communication agencies.

A resident of Alamance County since 2013, Matt lives in Elon with his wife and their two sons. An active community volunteer, Matt is particularly passionate about youth coaching in local soccer leagues. In his free time he enjoys reading, playing tennis and pickleball, exploring local restaurants, cooking, and traveling with his family.

Balancing a fulfilling career with family life, Matt takes pride in raising his sons while maintaining professional success. A career highlight includes interviewing former President Jimmy Carter about his childhood in Plains, Georgia.

McKenzie Hutchins

Event Logistics Specialist

McKenzie Hutchins serves as the Event Logistics Specialist for Impact Alamance. In this role, she is the primary point of contact for the Conference Center, providing on-site support to non-profits and government agencies utilizing our meeting spaces. McKenzie also offers administrative assistance to support the building and team.

With an associate’s degree in business administration from Forsyth Technical Community College, McKenzie brings a background in healthcare administration to her position. She is excited to apply her skills to enhance her work at Impact Alamance and contribute to the success of our local community.

Originally from Forsyth County, McKenzie recently moved to the Mebane area in Alamance County and looks forward to connecting with the local community. Known for her dedication, warmth, and approachability, McKenzie is committed to making a positive impact at Impact Alamance.

Mollie Lund

Communications Specialist

Mollie Lund serves as our Communications Specialist, where she helps share the organization’s story and strengthen community engagement through effective messaging and outreach.

Mollie graduated Summa Cum Laude from Elon University in 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional Writing/Rhetoric and International Studies. During her time at Elon, Mollie was deeply engaged in writing, contributing to several on-campus publications, including The Edge Magazine and Elon News Network. She was also a proud member of Phi Kappa Phi honors society and Sigma Kappa’s Kappa Zeta Chapter. In addition to her academic pursuits, Mollie worked as an office assistant for Inman Admissions and volunteered as a student grant writer for the Alamance Dream Center.

When she’s not working, Mollie enjoys reading, thrifting, and listening to a history or comedy podcast. She has a playful and curious spirit, always eager to explore new ideas and opportunities. Growing up in a family with Collies and being the middle of three sisters, Mollie brings a unique blend of silliness and thoughtfulness to everything she does. Her passion for communication and civic engagement drives her to continue exploring the intersection of writing and community development.

Nicole McGinty

Program Officer

Nicole McGinty joins Impact Alamance as a Program Officer, where she supports local nonprofits by coordinating grant cycles, leading capacity-building efforts, and helping guide the Alamance Wellness Collaborative.

Nicole graduated Summa Cum Laude from Elon University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Health, alongside minors in Statistics and Wellness and Health Education. During her time at Elon, she served as the Executive Director of Education and Community Engagement at the Kernodle Center. Nicole is deeply committed to community service, volunteering over 600 hours and contributing to organizations like Alamance Dream Center, It Takes a Village, and Rise Against Hunger. In addition, she played club ultimate frisbee and worked as a personal trainer for Elon RecWell.

Known for her adventurous spirit and kind nature, Nicole is always up for new challenges. She’s gone skydiving, run a half marathon, and enjoys exploring the world around her. She also has a twin brother with whom she shares a love for adventure. Whether she’s in the classroom, at the gym, or volunteering in the community, Nicole brings a hardworking, compassionate attitude to everything she does. Her dedication to health, wellness, and service fuels her passion for helping others and inspiring positive change.

Melissa Tearry

Program Officer

Melissa Tearry is a nonprofit professional dedicated to strengthening communities and supporting families. She brings a collaborative, organized, and relationship-centered approach to her work, with a focus on creating meaningful impact through service and partnership.

Melissa holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Human Development & Family Studies, along with a Master of Public Administration in Nonprofit Management, all from UNC Greensboro. She is a Leadership Greensboro alumna and serves as a board member for Reading Connections.

Grounded in her faith and guided by a strong sense of purpose, Melissa values connection, continuous growth, and work that makes a difference. Outside of work, she enjoys reading and puzzle games.

Lauren Bedell

Elon Fellow

Lauren Bedell is a recent Elon University graduate who earned dual B.A. degrees in Political Science and Public Policy, along with a minor in Interreligious Studies. Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented, she developed a strong interest in public health policy, medical malpractice, and immigration law throughout her academic career. Her commitment to serving diverse communities was reflected in her volunteer work with ESL classes at a local masjid, where she supported English language learners and gained valuable insight into the challenges faced by immigrant populations.

As the Year of Service Fellow supporting Impact Alamance’s Healthier initiatives, Lauren is committed to advancing community well-being and giving back to the Alamance County community that has played a significant role in her academic and professional growth. Outside of work, Lauren enjoys rock climbing, scuba diving, and traveling, and is always eager to explore new places and experiences.

Emily Mallard

Elon Fellow

Emily Mallard is a recent Elon University graduate with a B.A. in Public Health and minors in Biology and Psychology. During her time at Elon, she completed 40 public health service hours in Alamance County, shadowing staff at the Alamance County Health Department, attending community health panels, and observing Alamance-Burlington School System board meetings. She also served as a Graphic Designer at Elon’s Center for Design Thinking, where she helped design, write, and edit Storybook: Voices of Alamance County, a publication highlighting local community leaders.

These experiences deepened Emily’s appreciation for Alamance County and strengthened her commitment to advancing health equity and community well-being. As the Year of Service Fellow for Impact Alamance’s Smarter initiative, she supports collaborative efforts focused on educational equity and early childhood development. Emily is passionate about helping ensure every child has access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.

Following her Year of Service, Emily plans to work as a medical assistant while preparing to pursue her long-term goal of becoming a physician assistant. Outside of work, she enjoys singing, dancing, and painting as creative outlets.

Lily Andresen-Simmons

Elon Fellow

Lily Andresen-Simmons is from Hendersonville, North Carolina, and graduated summa cum laude from Elon University with bachelor’s degrees in Policy Studies and Anthropology. As an Elon Year of Service Fellow at Impact Alamance, Lily supports Stronger initiatives, including For Alamance.

During their time at Elon, Lily served as a Resident Assistant, Apartment Manager, and Campus Tour Guide, while also participating in Students for Peace and Justice and WSOE. They also studied abroad in Sorrento, Italy, and were inducted into multiple national honor societies in recognition of their academic achievements.

Their passion for community-centered work grew through studies focused on poverty and social policy, including research on equitable housing policy and the racial homeownership gap. Lily interned with the City of Mebane through the Campus Alamance program and revised a policy for the City of Burlington through their senior capstone course. These experiences further strengthened their commitment to community, equity, compassion, and service.

Outside of work, they enjoy reading, hiking, camping, exploring the outdoors, collecting mugs, and appreciating fun socks and houseplants.
